I woke up this morning, switched on CNN and was shocked to find out that New Zealand is attacked by an pre-dawn 7.0 magnitude earthquake near Christchurch. The NZ government has declared a state of emergency. A curfew from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. was in place, and the army was assisting local police to ensure there is no looting.
I rembr that 3 of my Singapore friends are still holidaying in NewZealand. Quickly sent a sms to one of them at 12noon and he replied me only 4 hours later. He mentioned that suitation is quite bad due to many aftershcoks. They are leaving Christchurch by tomw and hoping that there are no nasty aftershocks tonite.
Hope they are feeling better now and can quickly get out of the affected areas as quickly possible.
